Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign a deal with the French club for the defender Benou Toure-Eriksen, who was signed by the Gunners as a free agent last summer.

The 23-year-old has scored seven goals in his nine appearances for Arsenal this season, with the Gunner’s goal drought in front of goal having stretched to six matches.

But Assou is not in the starting line-up as he is sidelined with an injury.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club are prepared to make a new signing this summer as he seeks to bring in the world’s most expensive defender.

The Gunners are looking to add another attacking weapon to their squad after the departure of captain Lukas Podolski.

The club are also hopeful of signing Arsenal starlet Danny Welbeck in the summer as they look to strengthen their squad in a bid to regain their Premier League status.

Arsenal’s latest signing from Chelsea was signed on a free transfer from Liverpool for £22m.
